Obedience School

JayJ is sending us to obedience school and we have our orientation late this afternoon. Jay does not know what I am talking about and would like me to stop talking in compound sentences. If I want something from him, he wants me to issue a one-word command instead of saying, "Mr. JayJ, it is high time you released your baby kitten sister from your mouth and settled down for our family evening of t.v. movies and conviviality. We can't concentrate on the television when you're chewing on Bea."

Jay goes to the dog park a couple of times a week. Yesterday, he chased the big dogs and played in the rain. He runs up to other animals and barks several times, then runs away, hoping that they will chase him. He is a racer and wants to be chased because he always wins. We want the world to play to our strengths.

We have the back of the house blocked by a gate that Jay cannot get through so that Taylor will feel more safe. Taylor, a sensitive 10 year old cat, sees Jay carrying the willing Bea around in his mouth and won't be any part of it. Taylor is happier with the Jay-less back of the house.

We think that Bea will be a small cat. She is a beautiful kitten who continues to give the swatting, discontent Taylor a taste of her own medicine.
