Peggy here, writing for the little pet trio. Taylor is happy with her Tiki food and the time each night when she is combed. She feels stronger and is feistier = the Tiki food.
Bea is a rambunctious little gal, running here and there and tormenting Taylor and Jay and sometimes Kathy and Peggy. She does yoga with Peggy. She watched a little t.v. this week, sitting below the t.v. and staring up at the picture as it moved here and there.
Jay continues to be a little hoot. He is happy to hear that his foster brother Blaze may have misbehaved this week. Jay does yoga, too, especially downward facing dog, which he calls "Mr. Stretchy-Stretch". We are going to a playdate tomorrow where Jay believes that he will be the most handsome Mr. Stretchy Stretch there. He joined Publishers Marketplace this week and hopes that this will help him to find a literary agent. Stay tuned for news of that!

Blazer Wardrobe for Aunt Peg
The Pets are writing. Aunt Peggy has a new job so she bought grownup clothes, all in autumn colors. She rejected the skirts because they are so yesterday and bought 3 pairs of all-season wool "slacks". Now she's ready to go out and get the dog and cat food. Taylor has been especially worried about the unemployment situation here because she loves the Tiki kitty food, which is more expensive than that other dead gray stuff in a can. Jay is depressed because there will be one less lap to jump into since Aunt Peggy will be away at something called a "job". Bea doesn't care what anyone else is doing because happiness cannot be found in the agonies and ecstasies of others.
Aunt Peggy has been reading books on management theory. There's one book about CEOs of big corporations that makes her hyperventilate whenever she is within 3 feet of it. She is glad that we live a simpler life here, concentrating on the dog and cats and mango ice cream and not being too big for our britches.

Pets Give a Thumbs Down to the Heat
Peggy here. None of our pets is happy with the heat. Taylor sits on the bed and hollers at me to turn it down. Bea and Jay have stopped playing and can be found crashed out on a floor that is not carpeted.
I don't know which of the pets is unhappiest with the peat bog fire that erupted a few nights ago on a lake near here, and continues to smolder. It sends out smoke to the neighborhoods. Our eyes are running and we're sneezing. Everything is coated with ash.
Blaze, former foster dog, let us come to the dog park the other day, although it was just Kathy and Jay who went. Blaze had a Blaze day, with running and playing and swimming. He is a great, happy, bouncing dog who always looks like he's laughing. Marcy gave us pictures that capture the essence of Blaze. Those pictures are on the piano. Blaze is a most loved dog to us, his former foster household.
Jay is a happy boy because he is no longer crated when we leave. We trust him just that much. It was too hot to crate him this week. He does run to the window when we leave and cries and howls. When we come home, he is waiting at the door for us, almost sobbing with return-excitement. He was a little miffed this afternoon that we did not take him to Taco Del Mar, a place that he hears an awful lot about these days. He, too, is a wonderful little boy with quite a darling personality.
Bea continues to suck on Kathy's ear lobe every morning. Taylor gets combed at night and is a beautiful little cat who loves her Tiki kitty food and wishes the world would cool down.
Neville Boo will more than likely stay forever with his other foster home. They have lots of fun there and he can continue his life of falling in and out of love. They have music there, too, so he can listen to Abba, his favorite band, as frequently as he wants. Neville had his eye exam this past week and it doesn't sound like he's too bad at all. No matter what he does or doesn't have, he is a cute little guy and popular with everyone.
What a week it was! All of that talk about race and racial profiling! We're finally talking again in America about that and it makes my heart soar. In the situation that made headline news, it appears that rhe right people are seizing the moment and acting like the grownups they are. They are taking the opportunity to not get caught up in the insults and argument and to move the discourse forward. Things will change with people looking at this issue; it's going to be an exciting number of years.
